Andrews Charitable Trust strengthens organisations that are breaking new ground in tackling housing-related poverty. We fund pioneering initiatives and bold ideas, create affordable housing opportunities, and steward a responsible business — Andrews Property Group — to make lasting change.
Our work is inspired by a Christian vision of a just society where everyone can flourish in a community that cares, and with a place to call home. We work with people and partners of all beliefs who share our values.

Andrews Charitable Trust (ACT) was founded in 1965 by philanthropist and entrepreneur Cecil Jackson-Cole, who created and supported charities to meet the needs he saw around him. As co-founder of Oxfam, he pioneered the first charity shop and helped establish more than 60 charities, including ActionAid and Age UK.

Andrews Property Group
Stewarding a Responsible BusinessWe own 100% of Andrews Property Group — a profitable estate agency whose success funds our charitable mission. |
|
Andrews Property Group, facilitates people who are moving and manages homes so that landlords are compliant and tenants enjoy safe, well-maintained places to live.
We wholly own the business and work closely together, sharing our vision because we share the same underlying belief about what housing should do for people. The profits of the business then also fund the charitable work that we do, supporting those for whom the housing market is not working.
In 2025, Andrews staff contributed a remarkable 2,276 hours of volunteering and fundraising activities. They also contributed 1,432 professional support hours across a range of areas – from marketing to finance and housing support – to help ACT thrive. |
