ACT are looking for new trustees motivated by affecting change through charity and business working together.
Andrews Charitable Trust is a grant-making charity. As the majority shareholder of Andrews Property Group, ACT uses the profits made by the company to support ventures which offer innovative approaches to social problems.
Our trustees play an active role in guiding the programmes of grants and investments, which aim to address the links between housing and poverty – both in the UK and internationally. We are working toward this through supporting action, building knowledge, and developing ways of using our investments as a tool for change.
We are looking for two to three new trustees motivated by affecting change through philanthropic, charitable and business organisations working together. We particularly welcome applicants with experience in one or more of the following areas:
· Property development and property investment, including understanding of affordable housing models
· Shelter responses in humanitarian aid or international development;
· Services for young people who have been in care or in housing need;
· Growing enterprises to achieve scale.
Applicants with other relevant areas of expertise would also be welcome.
Total time commitment is no more than 10 days per year. This includes three afternoon board meetings and one full day a year (near Bristol usually Thursdays), plus occasional visits to prospective investees and/or participation on one of our sub committees. Home reading and research.
